Classic cosy old skool pub away from the town centre. Nicely cluttered without being contrived, a fire on the go (it was warmer than an old folks’ home) and really friendly locals. Cask-wise it was TTL and Bass, the latter a bit warm (not surprised!) but fine (NBSS 3). Few notes as I spent too much time chatting with all and sundry, it was like being in a living room at a relaxed house party. I could have stayed for a lot longer – maybe next time I will.

The Jolly Farmers is a decent looking oldish pub that is on the southern edge of Shepshed.
Once inside this pub was quite nice with a couple of rooms,when i first visited this pub on 13 May 1984 it was a Bass tied house and the one real ale on the bar was Bass and this was a very nice drink.
