A gastropub in a bend in the road a half-mile or so out of Long Crendon that at least offers a couple of locAles in the shape of Chiltern Brewery's Beechwood Bitter and Earl Grey IPA - the latter an extortionate £4.95 for a pint. Despite the homely surrounds - exposed, bowed beams and posts and open fireplace to the right-hand wall - this is quite clearly more restaurant than pub.

The Mole and Chicken is a gastro restaurant that also provides accommodation a mile outside the village of Long Crendon in the hamlet of Easington. It started life in 1831 as a workers’ cottage, became the village store, turned into a pub and is now a high end expensive restaurant with 5 rooms.
There is a couple of leather sofas in one corner by the bar which does support three hand pumps but nearly all the people who visit come here to eat, and it’s not the type of place you visit just for a beer.
In one way that’s a shame because it’s a wonderful old low beamed building with a modern extension and very nice outside terrace which provides excellent views of the rolling Buckinghamshire hills.
I won’t rate it because I didn’t stay as even the available bar menu was too rich for my taste (it does include Ham ,Egg and chips, or more precisely dry aged ham, egg and chips at a wallet busting £8.00. Suggest you look at it on trip advisor if you fancy eating or staying here.
