Lovely multi roomed back street pub, the counter is opposite on entry with rooms off to left and right. The pub serves a range of Everards plus a guest from White Horse. Comfortable seating in older styles, it’s decorated with masses of knick knacks, a selection pump clips, pictures and whisky containers. There is a piano in one corner. The toilets out the back obviously were outside once but the space between has been covered over, the garden is called the smoking room according to the etched door. Probably popular with students as it’s on the edge of the De Montfort campus.

Corner local near rugby ground. An Everards pub with guest beers making a good choice, multi areas, fires and cosy place.

This Everards pub stands out from the newly developed apartments and offices in which it nestles with its white exterior painted walls and black sign work. The interior is traditional in decor and has two spacious sized rooms either side of the entrance, which includes a small snug, found in the far corner of the left hand side lounge area. The pub has some exposed beams in the main bar side along with a log burning stove. The lounge side to the left had a bank of high stools and tables as you entered, another fire place over on the facing wall, with a feature wallpapered wall and lots of big lamps and gilt framed pictures dotted around the place. If you felt peckish there was a fridge counter at the end of the bar serving up pork pies sausage rolls and freshly made sandwiches. The manageress was friendly and helpful and guided us through their choice of four handpulled ales and one cider. Two of the beers were from Everards, plus two guest beers. So we went for the White Horse Brewery Waylands Smithy, which was a decent 4.4% beer and was nicely kept. This is a respectable pub and well worth a visit.
