Originally came here in 1999 when it was called Molly O'Grady's. Now operates as an upmarket bar and diner (run by an Everards-adjacent company) with prices to match - £3.25 a half! Blue and mustard tones with Scandi style furniture. Three cask ales plus a cider. My first choice of Tiger didn't clear; exchanged with good grace for an Everards 8 Ball (NBSS 3) by the chatty barmaid-cum-hostess who had clearly been on a corporate 'how to talk to customers' course. There's a decent patio to the side with a King Dick/Suffragette mural of GCSE quality.

The Knight & Garter feels a little like a hotel bar, which may be due to being on the side of a gastro restaurant. The main focal point is the attractive copper topped panelled bar counter that has padding for elbow support. The four hand pumps were drawing Everards Tiger and Suffragette alongside Roosters Brewing’s Yankee Pale and Thatcher's Stan’s Big Apple. Premium keg was also available. Opposite the bar is a beer shelf and to the right is some seating. I’d pop back in for a pint, but wouldn’t stay for two.

Pub that looks larger from the outside. Well done out with the bar in front as you enter. Two real ales and an open fire in the right room. Toilets downstairs.
