Refurbed and repositioned by Everards since my last visit. Now a 'rock pub'. Around 14(!) pumps though there were a number of them doubled-up and ciderised. Mainly Everards ales with a couple of guests. My Black Hole brewery No Escape was in good form. Pretty stripped out inside and not exactly a come-hither vibe. Punters at the bar were well-lubricated and swearing like dockers with the teenage staff clearly not projecting the required gravitas from behind the bar. Not a huge amount to recommend it outside of ale and music, tbh.

Quite a good Everards house near the train station, serving the normal Everards fayre in normal sparkler-ised Everards condition. Patrons are on the acceptable side of rowdy, very middle-aged laddish. There's a coffee bar upstairs that's open during the week. Landlord and landlady were offering around free sangria last Sunday, so novelty points for that. Worth a stop if you're waiting for a train, not a bad little place. Rated 6

This pub had been refurbished recently and is now very smart with pine tables etc. It's now very light and airy and girly friendly. 3 cask ales available on my visit, 2 from Everards plus Timothy Taylor Landlord. The 2 I tried were both in good nick. I started chatting to the friendly barman and the landlord came over and joined us for a while. He's very pleased with the refurbishment. It's a friendly little place and I will definitely call in next time I'm in Leicester.

For me this was a flying visit before running for the train. Seemingly quite a few more people use this pub for the same reason, so the barmaid told me. Nevertheless, they do serve some well kept beers from Everards, also their guest Stones Pure Gold was excellent. Will call again.
