Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Wharf Inn
Vaguely interesting-looking pub when viewed from the street, although the front beer garden has a refurbished, corporate look. However, once inside, you find a rather good (if partly opened-out)heritage interior with various seating areas of different sizes. I found Pedigree and Wainwright Amber (£4.30) on offer from two of the four handpumps on the central servery.

From the outside this looks like a standard mock tudor Marston's chain pub, with a picket fence and garden seating with views over the busy Coventry Road. However a visit inside will reward you with a classic interior with much wood panelling and many traditional features. There are two front snug rooms, accessed via doorways from the main seating corridor. Both were curtained off during my evening visit, but no doubt each room will feature a real fire as advertised outside.
The central corridor has a small banquette under the leaded front window warmed by a real fire, with a grandpa style seat for good measure. The square side bar serves both the corridor and the rear lounge which has a well used darts board and bench seating.
Light muzak enhanced the visit, this is a proper boozer with a friendly welcome. The pub labrador mooches around and the pub is dog friendly but be aware there is a pub cat which is in charge and has a cushion on a bench opposite the fireplace.Probably best to warn the bar staff of the arrival of your dog to ensure that the fur doesn't fly.
There are 4 handpumps but just Marston's Saddle Tank and Pedigree (NBSS 3) on offer on my trip.Normally a third option will be available ,probably Burton Bitter.
Although the ale is nothing to get excited about, the traditional interior (CAMRA Regional Historic) and boozer atmosphere are more than enough to justify a visit.Close to the Ashby Canal.

We travel 30 odd miles just to take part in the Wed night quiz. Only a small pub but very friendly.
