I guess Alan Winfield got hi s dates wrong as 26th September is a Sunday when we do lunches. The main entrance is at the front not the side and we never have horse racing on the TV. I would guess he had too many shandies before he came in and was he at the right pub.
[Admin edit: Please note that Alan does not choose the date of the review, that is just the day he typed it, it is not clear from the review what day he went. Also as Alan left the photo of this pub it is a fair bet that he went there, not sure which side is the front having looked at the photo either]

This pub is just down the hill from the Crown and it has a mock tudor frontage.
The main entrance is at the side of the pub and once inside here the pub was fairly basic and was quite busy with locals watching horse racing.
I think this is a Marstons house and the two real ales were Pedigree which was quite nice the other beer was Marstons Bitter.
There was no food here.
