A real surprise, absolutely rammed mid-afternoon Saturday with families. Bit of a dull mish-mash inside with various shades of cream and grey, though the 70s bar remains. Darts and not pies at the bar. Just the single ale on in Bass though it was excellent and shifting (NBSS 4) but the grubby glass let the side down. Fair play, they're doing well.

The Gate is a bare brick built pub that is in the Hugglescote area of Coalville,this was probably a seperate village years ago but it is now joined onto Coalville.
Once inside the pub had two rooms when i first visited it with a nice bar and a smart and comfortable lounge,the pub used to be a Bass tied house with a very nice drink of Bass on the bar.
This was quite a pleasant pub to have a drink in.
