Newly refurbished after an ownership change, bringing lots of green paint and a little bit of opening up. Very surprisingly for me, the real ale selection has been slashed down to 2, this place always has a high turnover so no surprise that the quality of my Swan Blonde was sublime. Usually I‘m an advocate for “less is more“ but this seems a very conservative selection in this case. Otherwise, still seems like a solid professionally run village gastropub.

Flagstone floors, a snug, original leaded windows and beams. We parked ourselves up at the end of the bar area and perused the beers, which were Tetley's Original, Wainwright and Moorhouse's White Witch. I opted for the Moorhouse's, which was in excellent condition, the first pint didn't even touch the sides. The beer prices were excellent and the service was brilliant.

a decent friendly village pub. it was more wet led than food led on an afternoon though it’s very posh and rural with quite a few dogs in. There are two rooms, the big opened out one and the side snug. Four ales on which were Swan Blonde (Bowland), a Jennings Christmas beer, Wainwrights and Tetleys Cask. The bar is divided into two by a fireplace so make sure you don’t miss the final handpump. I’d be happy enough to drink here if I was local but I suspect it gets very busy at foody times.
