Visited this pub earlier this month with a few family members to celebrate the Golden Wedding anniversary of close relatives. Prior to the meal we sat outside as it was a beautiful summers evening. A member of staff brought out some menus and subsequently took our orders. The food was well prepared and presented and of first rate quality. The meal was of a standard worthy of a good restaurant and I have no hesitation of recommending it as an excellent place for a meal. There is no back garden so the outside seating area is very close to the main road. So bear this in mind if you have young children with you. We did and we had to watch them very carefully as it is a busy road. Obviously there is no parking outside the pub but there is a designated pub car park about 50 yards down the road on the Todmorden side. There is a sign indicating the car park but blink and you will miss it. It directs you several yards up a fairly steep road and then left into the parking area. So you are several feet above the road which you can reach down a flight of steps. I only mention this as it may be of interest to people with mobility difficulties. The ales are as reviewed on 10th May 2010 and it is still dog friendly. This pub has character and deserves a visit. It is certainly on my list of favorites. If my Wife and I had any reservations they were about the toilets. They are clean but do need modernising.

This fantastic pub has recently reopened, serving Timothy Taylors, Moorhouses and at least 2 constantly changing guest ales also serving fantastic home prepared and cooked food using organic, free range and local produce where possible, all served in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, dog and muddy boot friendly
