The fact that half of the pub sign is missing doesn't give a great impression of this pub as you approach. There are a couple of outside benches overlooking the very busy Whitworth road. There's one main room with a pool table and a dartboard in the area to the right. There's a seating area to the left and a jukebox. The jewel in the crown in the pub is a really nicely decorated, wood panelled room with a decent fireplace just to the right. This was in darkness when I arrived, but the landlady put the lights on so that I could have a look. What a shame that it seems to be underused. 2 handpumps on the bar, but only Wainwright available. I was told that this is a permanent beer, it was in reasonable condition. Not a pub that I'll be visiting on a regular basis, but it was OK for one.
