This pub is under new management and i must say they are a lovely married couple. Since the 1/6/2014 they have and continue to make massive alterations to improve both customer enjoyment and safety. They have live bands once a month and entertainment Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it is truly becoming the venue for up and coming bands and a place for a great night out. Although it is still a little rough around the edges i am positive this couple will make it enjoyable to visit with their friendly personalities.

I am a local castelton guy born and grew up here I think the commercial pub dose not deserve the previous comment iv just seem this pub is now know as the place to be in castelton there are two young guys who runs the business an they do a great job at it the pub has never ever been as busy as it is now the clients are a regular tea time crew very steady every day they all come in after work then late at night from 8 pm there is disco karaoke ect and live acts and bands which attracts a different clientele at nights couples older ones young ones its really brilliant it's like a house of fun when I go in there this pub deserves a lot more the owners has dedicated a lot of time and effort to decorate and make this place a better one and the beer is the cheapest in the village an the best drafts in the area and this is a fact I much better that the blue pits and the midland bar near by the commercial is a top put worth visiting and meet the friendly bar staff and landlords

As you enter the bar is on the right, there's a DJ rig and a mirror ball in the room to the left and there's another room to the rear. Tracksuit bottoms, trainers and football shirts seem to be the attire of choice here. Or it may not be choice, some looked like these were the only clothes they owned. There's no cask ale of course so I had a half of fizzy stuff and watched Castleton's low flyers prepare for their Friday night binge. I was in here at about 8 p.m. on a Friday, I wouldn't have liked to be here at 11, it would have been scary. It's a dump and it suits the clientele perfectly.
