This was on our list of pubs to do, but mainly for the sub-group on the crawl who like to have something to eat rather than just beer. I tagged along in hope of something decent to drink, but when I saw that only one hand pump was displaying a pump clip, and that Marstons EPA, I just turned around and walked out. The other three later reported that, although the pub was fairly quiet it took over half an hour for them to get their meals.

you can feel the shell of what was once a traditional multi roomed pub but it has now largely been knocked through into a pleasant modern standard pub. perhaps now best known for food but still very much a pub too. seems to do well considering its inconspicuous side street location. 4 ales on the bar, all kinds of pale ale.

This pub is slightly hidden down a street off the main drag. Its a pleasant enough place that is made up of about 3 areas to drink in. There were 4 handpumps on the bar. I only spent a short time here so didn't get to fully look at the place. It seemed ok and will give it another go next time.
