I never give 10/10 for anything but the "new" hosts of the Derby have really made this Hostelry spectacular, our first visit was sadly after a funeral When we enjoyed the best buffet I have ever eaten They transformed a sometimes mundane snack into a banquet with a vast variety of chunky sandwiches, meats, chicken, salads, pastries sausages and proper chips Everyone commented on the quality and quantity of the food and said they would like to come again on a happier occasion . Well we have revisited on several occasions and would like to commend the S.O.S which is apparently the Special On Saturday ! Which is a Jaw dropping and generously proportioned Mixed Grill with all the trimmings ~ Succulent steak, lamb chops, pork chops, gammon, local specialty sausage and really tasty chicken breast each meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly and is a pleasure to eat the trimmings are all there mushrooms ,onion rings tomato vegetables and a choice of proper chips ,jacket potato etc and are included in the ridiculous and astounding price of £10, yes ten quid The bar area is comfortable and warmed by a real fire The beer is kept very well. The dining room is spacious and well presented and the wine list is comprehensive and serves all tastes and wallets I am beginning to regret posting this review as this hostelry is already very popular which is good news when so many Pubs are regrettably closing

This very pleasant pub sits on the edge of the village of Inskip. We visited on a sunny Friday lunchtime & had a really delicious lunch. The cheese & onion flan was tasty, the chunky chips were lovely & the salad fresh & crisp.
Light bites are available as well as main meals. Childrens menu. Ales on offer include Spitfire.
There's ramped access to the rear, accessible toilet, car parking to side & rear.
Outdoor seating area with views over open countryside, also childrens play area.
No smoking. Friendly & efficient service.
