Corner pub on what appears to be Ormskirk's main shopping street. However, I was the first one in on my Sunday lunchtime visit. There are a couple of rooms to the front as you enter, but the main bar is ahead of you as you enter and to the rear.
I'm not sure if this is now a Greene King pub or not, but the handpulls were clipped with their IPA & Abbot. Although, both pumpclips were turned. So, there was actually no real ale at all. Most keg options were ciders - Thatcher's Blood Orange Cider, Cloudy Lemon Cider, Apple & Blackcurrant Cider & Juicy Apple. There was also Madri, ABK Hell, Guinness, Carling, Coors & John Smith's.
The landlord seemed quite an amenable fellow, but the pub was clearly lacking any form of atmosphere on a Sunday lunchtime. One other customer did join us before I departed.

town centre pub with a bizarre psychedelic Queen Elizabeth head for a pub sign. Inside it’s ok if a little bland, and at least had a proper pub atmosphere on a Wednesday night. It’s better than some others in the town. Sadly the Abbotts ale was dull dishwater.

A traditional style town centre pub. 4 areas to sit with a room on either side of the main entrance. 4 handpumps dispensed national brand beers with their own beer called Queens Head by Tetley. A decent pub and friendly enough.
