I was last in this pub in 2013 when visiting for a colleague's leaving do. I recall an incident where his wife fell into a fireplace!

Said fireplace now appears to divide the main room into two now, with a third room through an archway. There are currently a couple of brightly lit reindeers in the fireplace with a TV above it too. Stained glass windows depicting birds in the entrance porch are noteworthy. There is a games machine next to the bar. Outdoor tables comprise a few picnic tables on the pavement at the front and a much larger undercover patio to the side and rear of the pub, an area which contains a large TV.

At the bar, there are 3 handpulls. Two of the handpulls were clipped with Fuller's London Pride & Windsor & Eton Roast Chestnut Ale. The third handpull had a turned clip for Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold. Craft beers were Brixton Reliance Pale Ale & Beavertown Neck Oil. The cider was Inch's.

We received a warm welcome from the barman who commented that my order for the Roast Chestnut Ale was a good choice. In actual fact, it turned out to be an awful choice and I ended up returning it to the bar and exchanging it for a Pride.

Situated opposite the Riverside station, it's always going to attract a fair custom. Not sure when it changed its name from the Royal Oak, but Royal Windsor it is.
