Set back a couple of hundred yards from the promenade this is a proper locals pub. In fact the couple who run the B&B I was staying in call in a couple of times a week as it's their local. Lots of bric-a-brac all around the pub. The only cask ale was Lees Bitter which is a bit unusual for around here, but it was in good nick. I'd happily call in again.

Proper locals pub , a little tucked away from the town centre. It has clearly been altered but still feels like an ‘old pub’. Very traditional with bric a brac and comfortable banquette seating. Friendly locals discussing the music playing on the jukebox, although they all turned around with surprise when we entered. Two ales on, Lees Bitter and a local blonde, there may be a tie with Lees as their craft lager was also on the bar. I really liked this one, found it cosy.
