Formerly the Imperial when I used to work in Morecambe, but it was never a pub I frequented in those days (see my review of Davy Jones Locker). The rather imposing front shouldn't put you off, as the interior is nothing special, having been the subject of a makeover at some stage and now featuring one large room. To be fair, it's a light and airy room, with separate seating areas at the sides and front, and a large bar at the rear under an atrium.
Six hand pumps were perhaps also a surprise, though the presence of Sharps Doom Bar, Caledonian Deuchars IPA and Wadworth 6X not so much. Other beers were slightly more obscure: Rockin Robin Reckless (Maidstone), Just a Minute Tempus Fugit Ale (Spennymoor) and Bushy's Oyster Stout (Isle of Man). I only had time for a swift half before attending the football up the road, but I made a mental note to return here next season (if we're still in the same league).
