Modern - 2012 – if fairly bland Spoons which was very busy on a midweek afternoon even though it’s not centrally located. Lots of rooms/areas though a bit cramped with tables pushed together as close as can be reasonably be allowed. My Moorhouse was fag-end ming, changed without fuss for brand new Lees (NBSS 3.5). Nothing to write home about, JDW-wise, bar the lack of carpeting in some of the areas! 5.5

This is a smart, clean and modern looking Spoons. It has several rooms and the small front room felt like a breakfast room in a small hotel rather than being part a pub. I probably added to that vibe as I was there for breakfast.
Out of curiosity I checked out the guest ales but it seemed a bit sparse on that front - with just Lancaster Black alongside two GK default options.
I think as a pub that would have been a bit disappointing, but as I was there for breakfast and not beer, it didn't bother me on this occasion.
Toilets are upstairs, up a rather narrow staircase. The toilets were nice and clean.
There is a pleasant seating area to the front outside, which looks very inviting when the sun is shining.

a pleasant enough Spoons tucked away in a quiet part of a quiet town. And indeed it was ticking along quietly on a Saturday morning. Quite a modern but intimate interior, nicely decorated with a seaside theme though a bit sterile for my tastes. Plenty of space and with further outside seating at the front and back. It did the job and there’s a decent choice of ales, even if it’s nothing to write home about.
