Visited on a whim while walking past in January. Three hand pulls but only Doom Bar in service, with one unclipped and the other clipped but turned round (I could not tell what it was but didn't recognise it as something obviously mainstream). My pint of Doom Bar was £4.20 and was in good nick. The pub was open just before its published time of 12, which was welcome and saved me hanging around.
It's nicely done out inside with a very traditional feel. Sports TV was being shown but muted, in favour of some background music.
Food is served so I decided to stop for lunch before continuing my travels. They have a special lunch menu and I went for the scampi and chips for £9.25. When it arrived it looked like a kid's portion, with five scampi (which in fairness is stated on the menu) and only a handful of skin on fries. There was no tartare sauce, which was advertised on the menu, but I only realised half way through the meal so wasn't really worth asking for it at that point. Overall it seemed a bit expensive for what you get, but it was tasty enough.
Paid a visit before leaving, to find the gents toilets flooded with a 'wet floor' sign out. Had to gingerly tip-toe my way to the only urinal that didn't require waders to get there.
It would need a bit more beer variety to tempt me back, but as ever it was good to have tried the place.

Food orientated gastropub, naturally. The pub is split into 3 areas. The small central area houses the bar and looks like its just set up for drinkers. To the left and right the rooms are more set up for diners. There are 3 handpumps on the bar and today you could have had Doom Bore, Jennings Cumberland and Sharps Atlantic. Unless you're eating it looks like its best not to bother if you're after a pubby night out.
