Since its disastrous spell as 75 Church Street, has since reopened as 'The Dandy Lion Cabaret Bar', but that venture has already gone under after a week. Therefore this place is yet again closed with a notice in the door. Something is very odd about the recent history of this building.

there are plenty of places up their own backside in Lancaster but nothing quite as awful as this. decor-wise they have tried to copy the Borough (gentlemans club chic) but there are no hand pumps, just cans and bottles of extortionate craft beer. I wondered if I was even in the right place because it doesn't even feel like a bar let alone a pub. some bloke was playing some preposterous piano jazz to a room of a few people (bar staff and friends of bar staff). £5 for a small can of some crafty slop. just truly terrible, no wonder it's always dead.

Now bankrupt and in a legal quagmire over unpaid wages.

Issues resolved and the pub is now reopen.

24/09/2014
Lancaster council have got a court order to make the owners of this pub stop the refurbishment as they discovered that they were converting part of it into flats without planning permission. The court case continues.
