We had a Wednesday morning visit to the Duke of Edinburgh. Tucked away on a lane off the A332, it seems to double as a locals' pub and a dining establishment. Staff were getting ready for the lunchtime trade, but a couple of locals were already sat at the bar with pints.
As with Moby Duck's visit, the two ales were 3B & Hoperation. It's comfortable inside with one end of the main bar devoted to photographs and memorabilia to Chelsea Football Club.

Pleasant multi-roomed Arkells pub, just a couple of cask on, 3B and Hoperation which was very nice. the pub was pretty rammed when I got there after a days fishing nearby on a friday evening. It was worth the stop off.

A nice homely Arkells pub bordering on the chintzy. L-shaped interior, with the left spur for drinking and the right for dining. Quite a lot going on in the interior – red fairy lights, an old ‘tap’ window, wood panelling etc. Of most note are the carved wooden heads on the lower bar panelling, one of which looked suspiciously like old Nick himself (see pics). Landlord must be a Chelsea fan, as there were a number of tasteful black and white prints bearing legends past and present. Four Arkells ales on over two sides of the bar; Wilts Gold, 3B, Kingsdown and a special - Hoperation IPA - which was in good nick and gratifyingly cheap as well. Nice atmosphere inside and I’d happily pop back here again. Lovely place.
