Alan Winfield left this review about The Anchor
The Anchor is a large stand alone pub that is on the northern edge of Darwen on the busy blackburn road.
This pub looked fairly nice from the outside but it was a bit dissapointing inside, there were a couple of rooms and i had a drink in a fairly basic bar.
This pub is a Thwaites tied house and there were no real ales on when i visited this pub,i had a drink of keg Thwaites bitter and this was a very poor drink.
