January 2012 Party of 14. Well we gave it a second chance and very glad we did. Not the most salubrious of fixtures in the pub but the meals make up for the shortfall. We had a short wait whilst our tables were readied but drinks were served quickly and time past without noticing. Order had already been given earlier in the day and the food arrived quickly and everybody cleared their plates and that speaks for itself. Deserts were produced quickly and we had no repeat of the last time. Service levels were very acceptable and we even recognised the girl from last time. Would recommend for hearty food at very reasonable prices. It is a 'Sizzler pub' and you can see their menu online.

It could have been so much better! 20/11/10 Party of 13 Pre-booked on the day arrived 4pm. All was very good in the beginning. Pub is easy to find, good sized car park and interior decor was reasonable. Varied Menu (which was available on web beforehand)with lots of good value for money dishes. Orders taken at bar. Meals arrived in good time although very spaced out (but we were a large party). Most people enjoyed the main meal BUT the problems started with the deserts. First they got the orders mixed up and it took the girl a long time to sort and her manner and demeanor were not customer friendly. You can buy extra custard but I wouldn't bother because you could not tell which had extra and which did not as they all came out with a similar amount. We also had to wait about 20 minutes for the last desert from when the first was served (and that was almost thrown down in front of the person). The final straw was when the mousse and ice cream arrived. It was solid (and I mean rock hard - you would need a chain saw to get through it and not a spoon) and when commented upon this we were responded to over and over again by "Well that's the way it comes". In the end we got a refund on that one. All in all the deserts spoiled what had been a very enjoyable meal, so much so that none of the party left a tip (which has never happened before).
