despite looking very nice and old from outside it's just another open plan town centre sports pub on Ashton's main drag. I suppose it's a bit rougher than the others but it was also the friendliest. all hand pumps have been removed so it was a half of Guinness but no big deal in a place like this. from my seat I could see 10 TV screens showing 5 different channels! sadly today it was Soccer Saturday, the inferior code of rugby at Twickenham and various horse races.

While its not great it is slightly better than some in Ashton. Only 1 real ale on at the time.
