I have passed through this idyllic village many times but this was my first visit to this pub. Traditional inside with no music or screens, if a little lacking in the character promised by the exterior. The landlady was a little slow and distracted and I do think £7.25 is rather expensive for a pint and a half. Theakstons Bitter and Old Peculier on the bar plus a guest, Lancaster Blonde. I retired to the peaceful beer garden at the back for a relaxing hour.

Will Larter left this review about Hark To Bounty Inn
A long building in grey local stone which would escape attention were it not for the prominent sign depicting the eponymous dog left outside a pub window and trying to attract its dilatory owner's attention. Inside there's a bar centrally placed, with a few tables and chairs near the copper hooded fireplace. Behind the chimney to the right there's a dining room, and to the left the large open room continues with a remarkable lack of distinguishing features. The ale choice was similarly undistinguished, with blonde beers from both Lancaster and Moorhouses breweries and the ubiquitous Theakstons Best. To round off the disappointing experience, the landlady asked me twice what I would like to drink but managed to distract herself listening to the conversation around the bar, so that she still poured the wrong one.

A very good traditional pub carpeted throughout and lots of paintings on the walls. Friendly staff and locals, well kept beer. On handpump Theakston, Pride of Pendle, and a fav of mine Tirril Brewery Brougham ale. Will return.
