An externally and internally greywashed rural pub between Euxton and Leyland. I usually really enjoy country pubs especially in Lancashire but this one has been fully stripped of character and did very little for me. It did even less for me when I spotted one of the ales was a Brewery Conditioned™️ Wainwright Gold, a sad day as my first ever sighting of one of these beers. I was almost tempted to give it a try but common sense prevailed and I went for a decent cask conditioned Landlord, for a steep £5.20. the bar area is really bland and contains little traditional character, the area to the right is just restaurant. There’s a rather unimpressive beer garden at the back but I went for the benches at the front next to the road, at least they were catching the sun.
