Whilst the Market Street Tavern is certainly located on Market Street, Stoneclough's market seems to have long since gone.
This is a 2-room local, that was packed on my early Saturday evening visit. With Manchester City about to play, social distancing had gone out of the window. Without any chance of a seat, I could not even see what was on at the bar.
A seat outside was the only option and the friendly barmaid confirmed that Landlord was also the only real ale option.
Difficult to judge this one, given I only spent a few seconds inside. But the fact I couldn't get inside detracted from my experience.
