The Old Five Bells is located opposite the church on a side street just off the High Street. It's a Greene King pub with a relatively open-plan interior. Although pillars help to create separate drinking areas and there is a conservatory area to the rear which overlooks a fairly large pub garden.
Floors are bare boards. An unused fireplace contained some flowers and there were were more flowers, greenery and berries scattered around. Christmas decorations were up and there were a few strategically placed Christmas trees. Black and white pictures of the local area can be found on the walls, whilst beams contain various literary quotes.
There were a couple of TVs and a games machine for entertainment. With the TVs off, music was playing. Greene King Wifi is available.
At the bar, Abbot & IPA are the regular beers. For our visit, Abbot Reserve & Rocking Rudolph were on too. Ciders were Inch's & Old Mout. There are menus on each table with bar snacks advertised. On our Sunday visit, roast dinners were being served (turkey, beef or lamb shank for £12.45).
This seems to be marginally the best pub that Burnham has to offer.

Nicely located just off the High St and opposite the church. A Greene King house, the interior has fallen to the ravages of internal knock-through but to be fair there's quite a bit of character with plenty of (modern) wood panelling, black beams and muted lighting. L-shaped, with a dart board to the right and at the end of the main drag is a conservatory extension and an expansive well-tended garden beyond. Presence of a soft toy grabber lets the side down though. Large screen switched off, so presume sports is shown sometimes. Four pumps with three ales; GK IPA, Abbot and Truman's Runner which was nice and rich though a little over-vented. Food doing a brisk trade and easily the busiest of Burnham’s pubs that afternoon. Quite a decent little spot, I thought.
