This is Bolton's rock pub and very good it is too. There's a sunken area with a stage to the left as you enter, where the bands perform. To the right is a typical rock pub bar and general ambience, with posters of bands old & new. Several long haired guys at the bar a couple of whom were up for a chat. Difficult to believe now but I saw Deep Purple, Quo, Sabbath etc in the early seventies when I was a long haired greaser as well. Three handpumps on the bar with a rather pedestrian selection, but beer is not their main selling point of course. I had a pint of Hobgoblin which was in good nick and listened to the first of three bands that were playing that night. No idea what they were called, but they were German and a very tight band. I ended up having another half and then rushing off for my train. I'll call in here next time I'm in Bolton.

Heavy metal place all long hair and tattoos ok if you like that sort of thing had a pint of Thwarted heritage cider very warm left most of it and went music far to loud
