Large upmarket place which is apparently a Chef & Brewer but I have to say I didn’t notice the usual C&B stylings within. Attractive, restrained décor - grey shade walls and parquet herringbone floor noted, plus a nice fireplace replete with what looked like a working wood-burning stove. To the rear is a large dining area and an impressive garden. Three fairly boring ales; GK IPA, Pride and Bombardier (decent nick) and cheaper than expected too. Desmond was also positive about his lemonade, something he’s rarely inclined to mention. So not bad really - a more interesting ale selection would have gotten this place a 7.
