Standard pub. The place has various areas to sit and one of the rooms housed a snooker table. There was one real ale which was GK IPA. Not the best pub in Blackpool but certainly not the worst.

Located just a short distance from Blackpool South station and the Promenade, this is a smart, two room John Barras pub. You enter via a small porch with some nice decorative glasswork in the doors, into a spacious opened out front bar with a dark wood servery running down the left hand wall. The room is broken up somewhat by a few awkward looking structural pillars, but is further sub-divided by a series of pleasingly arranged benches, some of which have high backed partitioning screens, creating something approaching intimacy in what is essentially a large open space packed full of various seating options. There were plenty of TV screens throughout the room showing two different football matches between them and the pub was doing a roaring trade prior to a fixture at the nearby Bloomfield Road stadium. A stained glass Dog and Partridge window can be found on the back wall, which, judging by the passageway to the right, used to partition the rear room, but now has a large opening cut into it, allowing you easier access from the main bar and rendering the passageway useless. This rear room is dominated by a snooker table in the centre of the checkerboard floor, but has some nice long curved banquettes in the corners, as well as the obligatory collection of trophies an lists of local snooker league fixtures on a noticeboard. The walls in this room have unusual modern marble effect tiles in place of the original wood panelling, although I did note one or two panels still in place. The décor is rounded out by some framed sports themed photos and a couple of Blackpool FC 'half and half' scarves. Windows on the right hand side look out to a functional walled patio area that won't win any horticultural awards, but does the job for the smokers if nothing else.
Sadly, and perhaps a little surprisingly, there was no ale on the bar, so I found myself sampling a pint of the keg Greenalls Mild which went down well enough but was no substitute for the real stuff. There were plenty of staff on duty and they were very friendly and dealt with the football crowd efficiently.
This is quite a nice pub that seems to get a lot of the basics right but is surely missing a trick by having no cask ale available. Whilst the atmosphere in here was much better than in the neighbouring Wetherspoons, I doubt I'd return unless they sorted out at least one handpulled ale.
