Real ale departed after a brief and wholly unmemorable return. This is still the locals local in Pangbourne.

October 2014
Used to be as rough as a docker's daughter, chucks of plaster missing from the wall and peeling paint, along with some obnoxious punters. There was a wholesale tarting up inside a couple of years back, quite good now. Even the regulars look like they've had a bit of a makeover. Will it stay that way? Ale availability was sporadic and now seems to have disappeared completely.

Tidy but rather featureless GK tied house,an open plan interior with modern furniture and a pool table in the rear section.At the bar there are two handpumps but only one operational offering the ever dull Old Speckled Hen,all the way from Bury St Edmunds.I can see little reason for a revisit,despite this being a proper boozer in the very upmarket village of Pangbourne.
