A visit the other week got the ale taken off as it was vinegar. Perhaps it's not going to take off in here after all.

September 2014
Now started stocking real ale! Two GK brews and my Golden Hen was in really good nick as well though the barmaid made a point of serving the locals before me. Interior is a single U-shaped room, done out in the standard GK 'Meet and Eat' branding though fairly stark painted in places. Features the usual mix of pool table, loud music and muted TV sporting events. Side garden area. WiFi too. Punters were earthy but less ferocious than its previous reputation would have led me to imagine. Given the Pond House up the road is so dire and the Spread seemingly happy with the lowest common denominator, this place suddenly looks a bit appealing within the local context.

November 2010
Keg-only Greene King pub. Has a bit of a reputation based on its recent past. Things are a little better now but it wouldn't be somewhere I'd frequent myself.
