Steve Segar left this review about The Windmill Brewers Fayre
Saturday 29 April 2012. Party of 16. Pre-booked. First thing to note is that the pub was no longer a Brewers Fayre as the title infers. However, we were greeted by the manager and shown to our table. Ambiance of pub is very pleasant although tables away from windows are quite dark. We arrived in time for the two for one steak night offer which was very good value. Steaks ranged from £11 to £16 and so to get two for one was a good offer. However, we had a large party and the meals were very varied. If you bought a main meal then you could help yourself from the salad bar. Now in establishments that I have been in before and offered this then the pickings were measly. However, there were over 17 items to select from and the tubs were replenished frequently. Then came the meals - they were exquisite. One lady ordered fish and chips and were sure it had Moby Dick inside because it was that big. All the portions were well sized and the food was well cooked and hot on arrival. The service was cheery and efficient although our dirty dishes could have been collected faster. However, the food went down very well, so much so that only a very few had room for deserts. These were well portioned and served hot and reasonably priced. All in All an excellent evening and a place we will definitely utilise again when back in the area.
Also the map is a little out as the pub is on the opposite side of the road from the Windmill Service station at the junction and you have to go into Branch Road to get on the car park.
