Now the Pump House has closed its doors,this pub although technically on Griffin Street is the first pub on the main road from Blackburn that is open.In 1893 there was 466 licensed houses in blackburn 438 pubs and 28 Off licenses,but sadly only about a quarter are still standing.The Griffin was the 39th pub on this short stretch to the town centre.
