A big pub with a lot of potential that unfortunately has a somewhat chequered past and dubious reputation. The spacious interior is actually quite nice, despite the pubco's best attempts to make it otherwise (poo-coloured varnish brown colour that dominates, a bit of a smoking ban hangover) - a lick of paint and some brightening up could turn this place into a tidy venue. Ale availability and quality variable; a pedestrian Marstons Pedigree last visit. Seems to at least be (currently) heading in the right direction.

Wow what a change whole pub has been painted and the kitchen done up and serving food very good food.
