Quite a large pub located on the Oxford Road. No real ale on offer here so I went for a Kronenbourg which was £3.50 which I thought was decent. Packed out on my Saturday afternoon visit, with several screens showing the football. Nice seating area down the side of the pub. Fairly standard boozer.

Quite a suprise in here the other week - clean and pleasant with a good drop of West Berks Good Old Boy to be had. Who'd have thought?
September 2014
Popped in again the other day. Has had an exterior makeover and a lick of paint inside but the underlying smell of damp and old cigarettes still hangs round. One ale - West Berks - which was utterly undrinkable, so bad I almost retched. Got my money back at least. Could do well if someone was allowed to run it properly but sadly it looks increasingly doomed.

Huge pub that sadly is clapped-out and shabby. Two ales on (Pride and 6X) in fairly terrible condition. Main bar on entering and a lower level with two pool tables, bar billiards (clapped out) and darts. This part of town needs a good pub and this could be it, with some investment.
