Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ypres Tavern
Old-fashioned High Street pub with simple furniture and plain decoration in the 'U'-shaped bar. Function room (with a pool table) to the rear. Just Courage Best (£3.40) from one of the four handpumps when I ordered, but another real ale was being put on. A bit of a disappoint, really.

Strongers . left this review about Ypres Tavern
This was the final pub I visited at the end of a relatively uneventful Monday evening crawl down Sittingbourne High Street. There was one other customer sitting at the bar and thankfully there was some cheerful music radiating from the jukebox. The interior is U shaped and the left hand side of the pub is marked as the restaurant area during lunchtime periods. I spotted a couple of plasma screens that were showing horse racing and Sky Sports is shown here.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and one of the two hand pumps was unused leaving Courage Best as the lone ale option.
The service was friendly enough, but when Homeward bound started playing I decided it was time to leave. I imagine that there could be a good atmosphere in here when it is a bit busier, but I’ll certainly not be returning on a Monday evening again. Maybe if I ever find myself in the area on a weekend I’ll pop back in for another look.

E TA left this review about Ypres Tavern
Before WW1 The Ypres was known as The railway Tavern and was a Style and Winch house. The name changed in honour of the battle after the war. It was originally much larger with 5 bars and accommodation, but now it's just one large bar area on a cormer plot in the High Street area with a patio area for smokers. It's well known for its impressive hanging basket floral displays in the Summer. There was a warm welcome, and good basic food at a fair price. The decor is also basic and there is a chewing gum ban - a good idea. The beer was excellent - two ales on, I had Spitfire which was perfectly kept. I would happily come back any time for a pint or a snack, and it's a must for a town crawl.
