Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Samuel Palmer
Attractive food-led village pub given a tasteful, upmarket refurbishment when the former Olde George reopened for the well-heeled locals in 2022. The right-hand corner at the front forms a general seating area, but the larger dining areas extend back from the left side. Four cask ales can be found on handpump: the 'house' best bitter and Ruby Porter (£5.50) from Three Acre Brewery, Larkins Traditional and the local Stollo from Stay Wild. Also has several crafty keg beers on tap, including Wantsum's Lager and Forest Road Session IPA.

Malden man left this review about Ye Olde George Inn
A popular village pub with a sunny veranda to the front, inside the main bar is straight ahead, a carpeted comfortable room with plenty of exposed brickwork, some areas of such with hops running along at ceiling level. Lower walls are wainscoted, painted white or possibly cream, the ceiling beams have scores of pump clips fixed to them, indicating a regularly changing range of beers. Various framed pictures of fighter aircraft from the war years and also eulogies about a couple of airmen. Saturday had three on, GK The Rumrunner, Napa Smith Pale Ale and Kent and Sussex Emperor (brewed by penguins it said).
Each end wall had a fireplace which look to get some use although no need yesterday, to the right of the bar the area returns back and leads into a parquet floored area with a dartboard and fruit machine, rather like a public bar.
Food is served and plenty folk were partaking, all the tables in the bar were set for dining although there was not an issue with me sitting down at a free one with my pint, I imagine diners get first dibs though. Beef Madras and rice £8.95, half a roast bbq chicken with chips, corn and coleslaw £9.95. OAP lunches every Thursday with two courses for £7.95.
A pleasant spot and appreciated by me after a good walk in the summer sun.

Small log burning fire at entrance, very low ceiling as you enter but taller people can stand up in the room to the left where the shop-counter style bar continues round, but with no pumps on that side. They had Everards Tiger & Original and Archers February Flavour, but none were in terrific condition. Handful of locals chatting at the bar but I didn't find the place overly welcoming and left with images of the Wicker Man flitting thru my mind, for some reason.
