Now housing. Managed 15 appearances in the Good Beer Guide which makes its demise even more poignant.
2010
Apparently used to be a decent pub a few years back. Went downhill in the new century and has now been closed for some time. Theale has a lot of pubs for its size, so I suspect this will not re-open.

A bit skanky in all honesty. The building looks quite imposing from the outside and the inside mirrors that impression. The place feels like it's from The Past, and not in a good way. No ale, which is a bit of a shocker as it was in the GBG not so long ago.
