Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Royal Oak

Fairly basic backstreet boozer formed from a pair of semi-detached buildings. The main bar area can be found in the left-hand portion, with a refurbished semi-traditional look, and a pool / darts room can be found in the other part. Just Bombardier (£3.80) available from the pair of handpumps, but the landlady took the trouble to ask whether I minded this being served in a London Pride (their other regular real ale) glass.

Pleasant enough traditional, no-frills town pub, but no real ale on this time around. The reception was friendly, atmosphere convivial and the banter was enjoyable. Worth dropping in at lunchtime but not Lydd's top venue.
