Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The British Queen
Upmarket food-led pub run by Heartwood Inns these days, but it retains a traditional bar area in the centre as well as a little lounge area to the right as well as several dining rooms to the left and further back. Tribute (£4.95) available from one of the three handpumps, with reversed Landlord and Doom Bar clips on the others also noted.

Judging by the pub sign, the queen in this case seems to be Queen Elizabeth I. This is the most basic of Locksbottom’s trio of pubs. There’s one large room that has clearly been opened up from its hitherto multi-room format, with the attractively wood panelled bar counter in the middle of the room. It’s mainly carpeted, and furnished mainly with normal tables and chairs, but with just a couple of tall tables/stools. Isolated in the middle of the seating area to the left of the bar counter is a brick fireplace and chimney. As far as I could see wall decor consists entirely of Guinness adverts, although the ceiling beams have supposedly witty quotes on them.
I thought that this was a rather tatty and ordinary pub. It did have real ale on, but I failed to note what it was, and in the three days since my visit I’ve managed to forget. I saw no sign of food or menus. This is the sort of pub that you would probably walk past without going in; but although I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again, if it was the only pub around it would certainly get my trade.
