Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Tickled Trout
First revisit for some 14 years (which was well before it was taken on by the upmarket local Balfour Hospitality mini-chain). Thoroughly refurbished in all parts, although surprisingly sparsely furnished in the bar area. Although very much a food-led pub with several dining rooms, there were still plenty of people just there for a drink early on a fine summer evening (mostly out on the front patio garden, but a few indoors too). Accommodation also offered. Just one of two handpumps in use, offering the seasonal Resonate from the local Cellar Head brewery (£4.80), but a range of four Jakes craft beers and ciders from the owning family also available from the keg taps.

somewhere I’ve driven past on occasion over the last few years. We popped in today. Three ales on the hand pump – a shame that the ale selection wasn’t what it might have been – London Pride and Spitfire can be obtained everywhere, but a pint of Everards Tiger went down well with a cheese ploughman’s. Sixteen quid for a meal and drink each – I was impressed. The beer garden was really scenic, and whilst busy, there were none of what might be described by the less tolerant as the “council estate element”. All things considered, I would certainly go back.

Excellent food and ale, a vast selection of fish and steak dishes, great service and nice atmosphere. I am going there again tonight with family.
Tip...Book early this is a very popular pub
