Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Admiral Gordon
A fine traditional pub, now a free house but formerly a Courage establishment as you can see from some of the exterior signage. Retains a two-room layout, only linked together through the gents toilets. Comfortable saloon bar at the front with old-fashioned (but well maintained) furniture and decor. Pool room to rear. Some decent music - ranging from Jimi Hendrix to the Offspring - in the background. Two handpumps offering Doom Bar and Pride (£3.30, and served in the right glass), plus keg Bass and the much rarer Bass Mild with bottled Courage Light and Youngs Ramrod also available. Overall, it had a fine atmosphere and beat my expectations - well worth a stop in if in the area.
