The Ship, Herne Bay

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Ship

Claims to be Herne Bay's oldest pub, and this may well be true given how close it is to the shoreline (although what that actually means date-wise is a different matter). Anyway, this Shepherd Neame house has quite an emphasis on food these days, with the majority of tables in the slightly split-level, opened-out, L-shaped interior laid up for those dining. That said, the other tables closest to the bar were busier with people just having a drink. I asked for a Whitstable Bay Pale from one of the three handpumps, but that wasn't great but it was replaced with a much better pint of Master Brew (£4.90) easily enough (and a reversed Spitfire clip was also noted).
