Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Golden Lion
Apart from the distinctive green exterior paintwork, this is a very traditional country pub despite also having been opened out at some stage to leave a U-shaped bar with a modest conservatory added to one side. The gantried servery is quite a feature, as is the old fireplace. There is also a dartboard on one side and a beer garden can be found on the other. With three of four handpumps in use, I found Young's Original and a local pair from Iron Pier: the regular Bitter and Perry Street Pale (£3.80).
