A decent seaside pub dating from before 1823, this is a traditional harbourfront boozer with seating outside, a mix of carpeted and wooden floors, various nautical clutter for effect and free wifi. There were 4 ales on: I had a pint of Exmoor Gold which was in very good condition. It's fun, has decent staff and is well worth a visit.

The Ship Inn is located on the Stade which overlooks the harbour and is home to many fresh seafood vendors. A beer resting shelf runs across the front of the pub and there are a few bar stools for al fresco drinking. The two front windows also open out so that a nice breeze can be felt in the pub on a nice summer’s day.
The interior is made up by a bar that runs along the right hand wall and faces seating opposite. At the rear there is a pool table and some 1980s music was playing in the background. A standard draught range was available during my Monday afternoon visit and although one hand pump was unused the other three were drawing Flower’s IPA, Fuller’s London Pride and Greene King’s Abbot Ale.
I thought that this was a comfortable pub with friendly staff and the location is marvellous. I will certainly make a point of visiting here if I find myself in the area again.

Small comfortable pub right on the harbour. On my lunchtime visit it was very quiet and the London Pride was in good form.Small outside seating area at the front which was very pleasant in the nice weather that we have been having lately.
