Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Elephant & Hind

Pub (and sometimes restaurant) in a prime position on the Market Square that has had so many names over the years, but this is actually the first time I've ventured in. Anyway, I found a refurbished - but very spartan - interior, although there are also a good number of tables out on the front pavement. Beer-wise, I found Gadds No 5 (£4.60) available from one of a pair of handpumps (with a reversed Canterbury Ales clip on the other), along with a few standard keg offerings.

A huge disappointment given its location and prominent high street location, Ellie's is a scruffy town centre dive bar. The wooden floor is scuffed, there is a dirty pool table and various gaming machines. There is a mix of tables and plastic sofas. Most of the clientele are rejects from JDW, There is no real ale. The tables were sticky, there are tv screens, speakers for a disco and continental-style tables outside for when the weather allows. Not worth bothering.
