A grubby Edwardian town centre pub dating from 1903. It is a traditional back street local, although now on a busy road. The main bar has a lino floor, dartboard, gaming machine and a jukebox; the latter was thankfully mute. There is also a tv. A small games room is mostly filled with a pool table. To the rear is a concreted yard where smokers can congregate when weather permits. There is no real ale on, and the only bottled option was London Pride. The welcome was genuine, but I'm not sure I would rush back despite the proximity to the supermarkets.
